We run numerous Yoga classes in the locality. Our students often ask us the following questions…

IS IT NECESSARY TO RESERVE A PLACE?

Our classes don’t require booking. You can simply turn up and start!

We advise you to get to the class early – by about a quarter an hour.

This will give you time to prepare properly and ask any questions that you may have to your instructor.

WHAT ARE THE SEVEN SPIRITUAL LAWS?

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga combines five thousand years of Vedic principles with asana meditation, Sanskrit mantras and chakra opening techniques. It is hatha yoga and has been turned into a bestseller book by Deepak Chopra.

WHAT CLOTHES SHOULD I WEAR?

You should wear loose and comfortable clothing, which allows movement easily.

Shoes are unimportant because the yoga sessions will be barefoot.

SHOULD I BRING A YOGA MAT?

Yes. Mats can be purchased easily and some classes may allow you to use a spare one, if you do not have one yet.

SHOULD I GO TO A YOGA CLASS IF I AM NOT VERY MOBILE?

It does not matter what your level of flexibility is when you begin yoga.

As a beginner, the instructor will not expect you to be able to do everything straight away.

With practice, you will become more flexible and find it easier to achieve the correct postures and positions.

Be patient and eventually you will improve!

HOW SHOULD A BEGINNER APPROACH YOGA?

We would recommend that a beginner starts with the beginner and all levels classes.

These basic classes will boost the beginner’s muscle tone, balance, stamina and mobility.

Persons with low or limited mobility could try the chair yoga. This is a class to help people practice yoga, whilst traveling or perhaps even at work. It is useful for anyone who has mobility issues also.

There are also family sessions, which can involve children in yoga and special classes for the over sixties, who want a gentle introduction to yoga.

SHOULD I EAT BEFORE I PRACTICE YOGA?

We do not advise that students eat for at least two hours, prior to commencing a yoga class.

If you really must eat something before a class, stick to very light snacks like nuts or some fruit.

WHY IS OM CHANTED IN YOGA CLASSES?

Om is simply a mantra which is chanted in yoga classes, because it reflects the sound of the vibrations of the universe.
