Graham phone calls on Russians to assassinate Putin: ‘The only way this ends’

Sen. Lindsey Graham Thursday referred to as for Russians to “action up” and destroy President Vladimir Putin amid Russia’s brutal war on Ukraine – then doubled down on the feedback Friday morning. 

“Any person in Russia has to phase up to the plate. Is there a Brutus in Russia? Is there a extra profitable Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian armed forces,” Graham, R-S.C., said on “Hannity.” 

Brutus was a Roman politician who killed dictator Julius Caesar and Stauffenberg was a German armed service officer who attempted to assassinate Adolf Hitler. 


“This only way this finishes my friend is for any person in Russia to take this male out,” Graham ongoing. “You would be accomplishing your country a excellent company and the environment a excellent company.”

Graham also recurring the “Hannity” responses in tweets. He explained, “The only men and women who can repair this are the Russian individuals” and urged them to “stage up to the plate” or else dwell the relaxation of their life “isolated from the rest of the entire world.” 

The senator’s comments brought on swift backlash by many others, anxious they could provoke Putin and lead to the U.S. finding dragged into a war among two of the world’s preeminent nuclear powers.

And Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov named the remarks “felony,” and “outrageous and unacceptable.” 

Even right after that pushback from his have celebration, Graham stood by the responses on “WHD & Friends” Friday early morning, calling for Russians to “increase up and get [Putin] down.” He responded by accusing Antonov of “supporting a war prison in Putin.”

“You, my good friend, are the a person who requires to apologize,” Graham said.

Graham also told “WHD & Mates” that he would like to see Putin, major Russian armed service officers and even the specific troopers carrying out their orders, tried out for war crimes Russia commits in Ukraine.
