Jan. 6 committee subpoenas filmmaker who had ‘extensive access’ to Trump: report

The House Pick Committee investigating January 6 has subpoenaed a documentary filmmaker who experienced “intensive entry” to former President Donald Trump’s White Dwelling and marketing campaign.

The committee subpoenaed filmmaker Alex Holder past 7 days, Politico described Tuesday. Holder reportedly shot interviews with Trump and his internal circle both just before and after the storming of the U.S. Capitol.

The committee will search for footage from all those interviews, as very well as uncooked footage of the January 6 assault itself and footage of Trump marketing campaign and administration officials discussing election fraud, in accordance to Politico.

The subpoena calls for information and facts relating to Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, Jared Kushner, and previous Vice President Mike Pence.

News of the subpoena arrives times soon after the committee sought to speak with Ginni Thomas, a conservative activist and the spouse of Supreme Court docket Justice Clarence Thomas.

Thomas states she looks ahead to the prospect to “apparent up misconceptions” the Jan. 6 committee retains.

The committee seeks to interview her relating to electronic mail conversations she experienced with Trump lawyer John Eastman, who pushed Trump toward statements that Pence could refuse to certify the 2020 election success.
