Montana Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte was vacationing in Italy this week when he declared a “statewide disaster” because of to intense flooding that struck Yellowstone Countrywide Park, WHD News verified Friday. 

According to the governor’s place of work, Gianforte departed for Italy Saturday with his wife Susan for a “prolonged-planned personalized, non-public trip” right before the floods had started.

“When severe flooding struck, the governor delegated his authority to respond to the disaster to Lieutenant Governor Kristen Juras with whom he worked carefully above the final four days to consider swift, decisive action,” press secretary for the governor, Brooke Stroyke, told WHD News. “Grateful to be back again in Montana, the governor appears to be like ahead to remaining on the floor in Gardiner this early morning to study harm and meet up with with inhabitants and community officials about recovering and rebuilding.”
