Worldwide Olympic Committee phone calls for ban on Russian and Belarusian flags, anthems at sporting functions

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) doubled down on its stance towards Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on Friday, urging the distinctive governing sports bodies to cancel or transfer global sporting events out of Russia and that its flag and Belarusian flag not be shown. 

The IOC Executive Board (EB) issued a statement reminding all International Sporting activities Federations that Russia’s modern assaults on Ukraine are a “breach of the Olympic Truce” which was previously agreed on by 193 associates of the United Nations again in December and was set to final until seven days right after the conclusion of the Paralympics in Beijing later on future month.
