The president of a Tiny Rock police union informed WHD News the mayor’s resolution to declare crime a general public wellbeing emergency was a political shift.

Farley also questioned the timing of the unexpected emergency declaration. Scott announced his reelection bid several hours in advance of the resolution passed.

Hines told WHD News there were 6 separate shootings the weekend in advance of the announcement. 

Scott denied that the unexpected emergency declaration was linked to his reelection marketing campaign.
