Los Angeles suspect who allegedly killed two El Monte law enforcement officers died by suicide: Coroner

The suspect who is accused of killing two California police officers all through a shootout on Tuesday night time died by suicide soon after allegedly capturing the pair of cops.

Justin William Flores, 35, allegedly killed two El Monte, California law enforcement officers though they responded to experiences of a stabbing at a motel.

When the officers, Cpl. Michael Paredes and Officer Joseph Santana, approached the suspect, a shootout took area and both of those officers ended up shot. They ended up later on pronounced lifeless at a Los Angeles region healthcare facility.

The Los Angeles County Health-related Examiner-Coroner’s business identified that Flores died by suicide as a result of a gunshot wound to the head, according to its site.

Flores experienced a preceding strike conviction and also received two a long time of probation for becoming a felon in possession of a firearm. The sentence is aligned with the procedures of Los Angeles District Lawyer George Gascon, who has been taken to court docket in excess of his handling of three-strike instances.

Sources within the district attorney’s business advised WHD News that Flores would have most likely been handed a sentence of up to 3 yrs in jail if he was prosecuted in February 2021.

Gascon’s office environment explained to WHD News that Flores did not have a “documented history of violence” when he was sentenced.

“The sentence he received in the firearm situation was constant with scenario resolutions for this style of offense presented his prison background and the mother nature of the offense,” the statement says. “At the time the court sentenced him, Mr. Flores did not have a documented heritage of violence.”
