Kyiv mayor proud of citizens’ take care of but uncertain about longevity

The mayor of Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, is unshaken regardless of the simple fact that Russian forces are making an attempt to besiege the metropolis, he explained in an interview.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko, also a retired specialist boxer, mentioned he is beaming with pride as his town survives the Russian onslaught, which has entered its 5th working day, but he is aware its citizenry simply cannot hold out for good.

Klitschko, like President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has no strategies to evacuate the town.

“We just can’t do that, because all means are blocked,” he told the . “All techniques are blocked and ideal now we are encircled — everywhere is Russians and we don’t have a way to evacuate the people today. And every person who had options to evacuate himself now moved.”

“In the evening, Russian Web publications distribute data with reference to me that Kyiv is allegedly surrounded and evacuation of folks is unachievable. … Do not think lies! Believe in details only from formal sources,” he said on his Telegram channel.

KYIV MAYOR EXTENDS CURFEW AS RUSSIAN FORCES Carry on Attacks

Over the weekend, Klitschko prolonged a town-vast curfew from 5 p.m. until 8 a.m., until at minimum Monday early morning, as Ukrainian military forces in the city are seeking to press again on Russian forces. The previous curfew ran from 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

“We are hunting these individuals, and it will be significantly a lot easier if nobody is on the avenue,” Klitschko additional, proclaiming that Ukrainian forces killed 6 Russian saboteurs Saturday evening.

“We display our character, our knowledge, our values,” the mayor ongoing. “To be genuine, we don’t have 100% regulate. We developed this territorial defense (process) in a limited quantity of time — but these are patriotic individuals.”
